What is Threading?

Threading is an ancient Indian way of removing hair. Threading involves knotting and twisting a fine cotton thread treated with anti-bacteria around hair to essentially pluck it from the pore.

Eyebrows really frame the face, they say the right eye brow shape can be like a mini face lift and take years off the face!

Threading gives an amazing clean shape to the brows, it is painful, I wont lie, but you are lying down comfortably (not in view of everyone in a department store)

Its quick and simple and you will be amazed at the results.  Our threading expert has grown up doing this Indian method and is able to give your eyebrows the shape you have always wanted.

Threading is also great for unwanted facial hair e.g. the lip and chin area.

Top Tip

Apply with a tanning mitt. Exfoliate prior to application. Moisturise very dry patches and rough skin such as elbows knees, hands, ankles and feet. Use 1 pump at a time apply product with elongated circular movements and blend around fingers and ankles. Wipe Knuckles, knees and ankles immediately after application to ensure tanning perfection. Ensure skin remains dry for 6 hours even longer for very pale skin) after application to aid self tan development.

Spray Tan 

The Vita Liberata Spray Tan comes in three different shades

Hawaii: Very Very natural suitable for those who are extremely fair but want a healthy light glow.

Equadour:  Medium shade our most popular spray tan for those who like to have a bit of colour. Lasts up to a week and fades really well compared to all other tans we tried and tested.  

Brazil: For those of you who love to be very dark- popular for people going on holidays.

Tips for spray tan:

• If you have some event on e.g a Saturday get your tan done on the Thursday night.  Allow a day in between your big event.
• If you are going on holidays get it done the day before so it will last as long as possible.
• Exfoliate the skin the day before your spray tan.
• Moisturise dry areas such as hands, feet, elbows prior to tanning application.
• Wear loose clothes in for your tan
• Bring Flip Flops

Having the right make up is critical, it is important to look like yourself, the last thing you want is to have a completely different make up look and your groom won’t know who is walking down the aisle towards him!

Going for a trial make up:

Have an idea of how you would like to look on that day, if you are going to wear false tan then wear it to your trial and wear an ivory/white top so you will have an idea of how you will look on your big day. Explain the style of your dress and colour scheme, hair style etc and your own individual style.  All of these are factors in how your make up should look, if you usually have a very natural style and you wear barely any make up and your husband to be hates make up then you need to explain all of this to your make up artist.You will be photographed more on this day than any other day in your life so my advice is look like yourself, just at your most beautiful. (no pressure!)   

The perfect bridal make up should be flawless, sheer, glowing, fresh, structured, look good in daylight and on camera!  You should not feel like you are caked in make up so its all about the correct products and application to suit your features and your style.

Here are a few do’s and don’t that will help you look gorges on your special day:

Do book your trial early, check out the make up artist and their work and products they use!

Do go with your individual style- look like yourself only better- if you usually have fair skin and never wear tan then stick to your style! If you love your tan and love your Smokey eyes, lashes etc then go for a version of this on you wedding day.  

Do look after your skin, drink enough water and go easy on the smokes! Make up can only do so much, try to get your skin as hydrated and as good of condition as possible.  Go for facials, peels, microdermabrasion whatever you need, your therapist will be able to tell you what treatments will work for you.  However don’t go for any treatments in the two weeks coming up to the wedding.  

Do go for a make up with a yellow undertone, this is usually more flattering then pinkey undertones and photographs more flattering.  

Do use mineral make up- this make up is much better for your skin, it really lasts all day and is good for the skin as it leaves out all the chemicals, talc, parabens and all the nasties and looks flawless. There are many types of mineral make up out now and if you don’t like the matte finish you will much prefer the liquid mineral foundations for a fresher dewy finish.  Liquid mineral make will give a healthy glow which is very youthful but it wont look shiney so it’s a great foundation to have in your make up bag. 

Do use a foundation brush, Use a Primer and matte powder for the t-zone.  All of these will help your make up last and last. 

Do go for a trial spray tan or try a few tans yourself a few months before the wedding.  Keep in mind that you can get a manual tan done with any of the professional spray tans- by getting the tan applied manually e.g (with an orange mitt) you are Much safer as there is very little chance of it going wrong.   Get your tan done two days before your wedding. Go for a natural tan- you want to look glowing not orange.  A lot of spray tans can come out very sallow and redy- go for a light golden tone instead.   Be carefull with tan if you have very dry hands as it will really stick to dry patches, everyone will be looking at your rings so avoid looking like you have Marge Simpsons hands!

Do go for some individual lashes- these lashes open up the eyes, create definition and thicken the lash line and still look very natural.  Get these done in your trial, I’ll bet my make up kit that you will love them.

Do get your brows shaped, the brows create structure and can really emphasise the eyes and look great in the photos. Brow powders can be great for filling in gaps and creating definition and are much more natural than pencils.

Do go for natural earthy colours with your eyeshadow, go for autumn, mulberry soft matte colours and avoid going too dark.  Create the definition on your lash line with a cream or gel eyeliner.

Don’ts

Don’t do your own make up- with all the fuss in the morning and your pre wedding nerves the last think you want to be doing is your mascara with shakey hands!

Don’t leave your make up until last minute, chances are the make up artist you want will be booked up on your date.

Don’t go for tan before your wedding if you have never tried it before-it can turn out very dodgy so try lots of different tans and use the same therapist on the day that did your trial.  Don’t go too dark-it will look like you already have been on honeymoon in Mauritius not to mention making the groom look pastey in the photos!  If your tan does go wrong however use pearl drops toothpaste and a scrubbing brush-it should do the trick.

Don’t forget to bring a little make up bag with lipstick and powder, these are the only things you should need to top up. Give one of your bridesmaids this job.

Don’t go for very shimmery eyeshadow, matte colours create lots of definition and look great in the photos. Don’t go for colours on the eyes or lips that you would never usually wear as if you go for red lipstick for example it will make you very self conscious if you are not used to it.

Don’t have a bottle of wine with the girls the night before !!!
